The Clock Is Already Running
EPBD 2024 Recast · Article 15
Today the SRI is optional — under Article 15 of the 2024 recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, Member States choose whether to run it. But watch the direction of travel: the Commission must report on the test phases by mid-2026, and is set to adopt an act by mid-2027 requiring the SRI for large non-residential buildings — those with HVAC rated above 290 kilowatts. The largest buildings are first in line.

A poor score nearly always points to integration, not hardware — so connect and tune what you already own before you buy anything new.
